What are the system requirements for running Desktop Dozen?

Desktop Dozen runs under Window 95, 98, NT 4.0, 2000, ME, XP and Vista.

You'll need a screen display of at least 800 x 600 pixels and at least 16-bit (65,535) color. Almost all computers made since 1996 meet those standards.

Is there a Macintosh version of Desktop Dozen?

Sorry, no.

Also, Desktop Dozen will not run on a Macintosh using the Windows emulator software Virtual PC.

I already have a trial version of Desktop Dozen, and I'm ready to buy it. What should I do?

Can I download just five or six of the tools, or do I need to download all 12 of them?

The installation program contains all 12 tools, so you'll be downloading all of them.

However, when you run the setup program, you can pick and choose which of the tools that you want installed on your computer.

(Note: No matter how many of the 12 tools you install, the price remains the same.)

What is new in version 2.0?

  • Desktop Dozen can be used now on computer systems that have their default font size set to larger than normal.

  • For all of the tools, added the option to view their main window in the standard Windows format, as well as in the original Desktop Dozen "shaped" style.

  • In all of the tools, added the option on the main shaped window to see minimize and close buttons.

  • In all of the tools, added the option to see a "menu" button on the main shaped window. When pressed, the pop-up menu appears.
    In the Astronomy Calculator, if you select a location by zip code, the city name now appears automatically at the top of the main screen.

  • In the Astronomy Calculator, changed the moon graphic so that the different lunar phases are easier to see.

  • In the Area Code Finder and Zip Code Finder tools, city and state names are now shown in upper/lower case rather than all lower case.

  • In the Postage Calculator, you can calculate rates immediately after choosing a country in the country list by pressing the Enter key.

  • When using the Printing Calculator and Time Calculator in the standard Windows format display, you can now choose whether to display the calculator buttons. Also, you can resize their "tape" displays to any height, which will be remembered and restored the next time you start the tools.

  • In the Alarm Clock, fixed a bug that would not allow alarms to be set to 12:00 am.

  • In the Alarm Clock, fixed a bug that would not save changes to Alarm checkboxes if the changes were made on the main Alarm Clock screen.

  • Updated the area code, zip code database.
